Samuel Shaolian

Chief Executive Officer

Samuel M. Shaolian has more than 30 years of experience in the design, development and management of biomedical devices and companies. Prior to joining Vascular Medcure as its CEO, Sam was co-founder and board member of the following companies: Valcare Medical (Minimally invasive Mitral Valve repair), Micardia Corporation (Dynamic Mitral Valve Repair), Elipse Medical (Dynamic implants for Orthopedics), Onset Medical (Expandable Introducer Sheath), Vertelink Corporation (Minimally invasive Fusion for spinal disease). Earlier in his career, he served as vice-president of R&D for Endologix, designing and developing products for the treatment of Aortic Aneurysm. Sam is an inventor/co-inventor of over 70 issued US patents. He holds a BSc. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, as well as, Msc in Biomedical  Engineering from Tel Aviv University, Israel.

Duy Nguyen

Co-Founder & Vice-President of R&D and Engineering

Duy Nguyen has more than 22 years of biomedical device experience in product innovation, product development, program management and team management. Prior to Vascular Medcure, Duy held roles of increasing responsibility at Edwards Lifesciences, Transcatheter Heart Valve Division leading the development of expandable sheath technology, balloon expanding aortic valve, self-expanding aortic valve therapy and mitral valve repair, R&D Manager at St. Jude Medical Electrophysiology Division design and developing  products for treatment of Atrial Fibrillation, Microvena (embolic protection device), Sulzer Spine Tech (Spinal Implants). Duy is an inventor with 20 US patents. Duy holds  bachelors in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry and Master in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Minnesota, Institute of Technology.

Thanh Nguyen

Co-Founder & Vice-President of Operations

Thanh Nguyen is a proven innovator with more than 29 years of medical device experience in product innovation. Prior to joining Vascular Medcure, Thanh co-founded Vertelink Corporation developing minimally invasive spinal implant. He also worked at Edwards Lifesciences, PVS (Peripheral Vascular System)  Division developed balloon expanding and self-expanding peripheral stent, Transcatheter Heart Valve Division developed self-expanding aortic valve therapy  and expandable sheath technology. Earlier in his career, Thanh worked at Endologix (AAA Stent) and Trimedyne/Cardiodyne Inc. (Laser). Thanh is an inventor with over 30 US Patents.

Jeffrey DuMontelle

Vice President of Regulatory, Quality Assurance & Clinical

Jeffrey P. DuMontelle has more than 30 years of experience in product realization of biomedical devices. Prior to joining Vascular Medcure as its VP of RA/QA/Clinicals, Jeff worked as a consultant for divisions of Fortune 100 medical device companies to support their compliance with FDA and ISO 13485 standards. He has held  senior RA/QA/Clinical management roles with Valcare Medical (Minimally invasive Mitral Valve repair), MiCardia Corporation (Dynamic Mitral Valve Repair), senior Operations roles with 3F Therapeutics (Replacement heart valves) and senior R&D and Engineering roles with ATS Medical (Replacement heart valves), Gish Biomedical  (Cardiopulmonary products) and Medtronic (Replacement heart valves). Jeff is an inventor/co-inventor of over 15 issued US and International patents and is a registered professional mechanical engineer with the State of California. Jeff holds a BSc. Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Iowa, as well as, an MBA from University of California-Irvine.
